Good Reasons You Need To Warm Up Prior To Playing Your Guitar
Playing A Guitar may not seems as hard as playing more physically straining sports, but it is. Can you picture sprinting a mile without stretching your leg muscles? It just goes to show that continuously playing guitar well without stretching your fingers isn’t plausible. You may not realize this, but playing a guitar can mean some serious hand and arm straining. And we all don’t want to get hurt, do we? Which is why you should remember to do a few warm ups before any gig or guitar session. Have you ever experienced that discomfort in your hands while playing your favorite song? That can turn into a serious injury if you continue like that. If that discomfort escalates, you need to stop. Just try to think things through next time and learn to warm up. One of the most basic ways of warming up is by doing a few scales that you run up and down a number of times. Try to loosen your muscles by doing scales and increasing your speed gradually. Then comes chord transitions. Make a few minimal chord transitions and then work it out from there. Go at it at an easy pace then speed up just like when you were doing scales. When you think you’re ready, keep a comfortable playing position. Keep your hands where they can play comfortable and give them enough space for playing. If you find yourself feeling an ache with any other parts, no matter how easy to dismiss, change positions.You?ll be able to avoid straining yourself while playing at your best. It is best to prepare yourself by warming up before playing, so give yourself a friendly reminder every time you pick up your guitar. Doing this will make playing guitar an easier and safer experience.
