How To Play Jazz On Guitar

The art of jazz guitar – Part A Preparation Primer true
I'm not going to children, playing Jazz Guitar is extremely difficult at best and almost impossible to really worst. However, there are things you can do to improve their improvisation skills and feeling and we'll discuss them throughout this series several parties in order to find additional pieces in the near future.
Practice
What I can say about the practice? Just do and do it often! Not every day. When you think you've done enough do it again.
I'm not just talking about the guitar pick and play a few songs I'm talking about real practice environment that is likely to be game that is, of course, in conjunction with other musicians we hope to always be better than you.
Here are the basics …
During practice to always use a metronome!
If I did not do the clear part maybe this can help: I always use a metronome!
If you feel that you do not need a metronome stop reading this article, stop practicing and go for ice cream because it will get the same or even better and certainly more enjoyable in the process if you do. If you are committed to read on.
Still with me?
By using the metronome, try to feel your time in clicks different. For example, to a swing feel your slate in the days 2 and 4 instead of 1 and 3. This will give you an instant turn off that feeling and unpleasant crutch so they are forced to know that time is actually 1.
We never, ever want to count on our battery, which can be in the middle of an improvisation complex experimental or just when you need it most, to say that it is time 1. How many times have you been in that situation?
Sounds simple? it is!
Sounds easy? Try it for a month and let me know how it goes.
Let's dig into this a bit. By practicing this technique of moving metronome clicks to deal with these times: the practice of 3 / 4 tune using the metronome clicking once per measure and only at time 2. Then switch to only three shots. See how it changes the sensation. Practice, one learns, feels and then you can start your own.
If you want to get fancy place the metronome click every beat fifth, while you play a song 3. This will change the accents and feel from bar to bar and also allows your brain to get rid of is a learned behavior that is designed to make you not want to think.
What you say?
That's it! More often than the human brain is your greatest enemy. Always seek the comfort and practice in the manner described above is not entirely comfortable for your brain. In these cases I recommend telling your brain that my son often they say, "To bad … so sad!"
We as musicians need to experience and understand the natural tendencies of the brain's normal behavior so that we can learn to really challenge ourselves to open our minds to the enormous creative possibilities that await us when we do. This does not happen by accident or does not happen by itself will not be easy. It takes extreme effort on our part.
If you have your instrument with you or can not practice their time. If you get a small battery operated metronome, I recommend, you can take with you when you're driving back and forth to work. Practice the above examples in your car while you sing. Do not worry if you can not sing you are trying to have these feelings and if you can not articulate those feelings with your voice that never really owned.
I mentioned several examples of displacement of beats. The idea is quite simple so you can reach more deviations in their own and must continue to change when you practice.
Point here is that the true understanding and final ownership of several hits and the feelings associated with them does not lie strictly within the rhythms and feelings. Looking only within the rhythms are off all the creative thinking that is necessary to really take advantage of their potential.
real understanding resides outside and know what that means. To really know what to forced and willing to look everywhere but their own heartbeats. This simple technique metronome will help you get started and point in their journey to achieving that goal. Do not limit the application of this technique only time, but the statement is for another part of this series.
Have fun, practice and always play to your heart!
