It's very interesting to read where this system is. "Tabulature" is the old word for it and that is America. Organizing notes in a table is "tabular" in English.

Tab is used not only for the guitar. Others fretted instruments use tablature as well. Examples include the banjo, ukulele, mandolin and violin Gamba. The Lute, bass, theorbo, archilaúd, Mandora, and Vihuela Gallichon use this form of notation as well. artists of the Renaissance and Baroque periods are among the first to use the tablature to accompany their popular songs. Today, pop, rock and blues artists make good use of the tab. Some writers of Spanish music, Italian and German come tablature written for the organ music and Spain and Wales (Great Britain) using tabs for the harp.

Try to imagine each line as a string on his guitar. String number 6 is the E-string on the sheet. number 5 is the string of a string and the serial number 4 is the D-string. Moreover, the serial number 3 is the G-String, String 2 is the B-chain, and the number 1 is the string e-chain.

The E-string is the thickest string on the guitar and the e-chain (minúsculas!) is the thinnest string on the guitar. The next thing to watch is the numbers of lines. Basically tells you what fret to use in the chain. The row numbers to give the order of the dishes that need to be pushed down. The 1 and 2 feet to move the contrast with that number, while the number 0 to open the A-chain to boot.
